Shippon Cottage is a three bedrooms, two bathroom cottage. There is a large sitting and dining area and a well equiped kitchen. Shippon Cottage can sleep upto six people with an optional two children in two double bedrooms and a bunk bed room.

This cosy cottage is located in the heart of Birchover village in the Peak District. Birchover boasts two traditional pus serving food and is close to many walking routes such as the Limestone way and the Derwent Valley Heritage trail. It's close to both Haddon House and Chatsworth House and well positoned to visit many attractions in the White Peaks. Free Wi-Fi and parking for up to two cars on site.
There are two double bedrooms and a bunk room sleep six, with the option of two extra children if requested. One double bedroom has a standard double bed and the other has a king size bed. There is large family dining area and lounge area so everyone can relax together after a busy day of walking and cycling. There are two bathrooms. One with a bath and one with a shower. We welcome walkers and cyclists and there is a tiled utility room with washer and dryer that has its own door and is great for storing bikes and muddy boots.

Shippon cottage has a little secrect room, just large enough to sit and read a book. Its decorated like a minature library with wood panelling, comfy arm chair and foot rest and curious objects. Shippon Cottage is a wonderfully cosy cottage in the heart of Birchover in the Peak District. We are set up with walkers and cyclists. We have your muddy boots and cycles in mind with indoor cycle storage, washing and drying facilities and indoor cycle storage. We even have tools and equipment needed to mend bikes and a repair stand.
Relax in the evenings with wine and boardgames in our lovely rustic styled open plan dining and living area. Huge dining table to ponder tomorrow's adventure over an ordnance survey map.
We have hard tiles floors downstairs and soft carpet upstairs. There is a door at the bottom of the stairs to prevent dogs and small children climbing them. dogs are welcome if they are kept downstairs, off the furniture and not left alone
We are also set up to receive children with some games and toys, kids crockery, high chair and travel cot. there is also a beautiful doll's house upstairs.
The upstairs bathroom features a claw foot bath and downstairs has a lovely walk-in shower.
Outside is parking for two vehicles (if parked carefully) and also free on street parking. We have an easee one electric car charger. This is an unteathered charger so you will need to bring your own charge cable. We do not charge for the use of the EV charger but ask in advance for access.
The patio area outside has table and benches for outdoor dining.
Mobile reception can be very poor depending on your network but we have super fast, reliable broadband.
Many people appreciate a holiday without TV. We have a small smart TV and keep this out of site. it is easy to pull out and put it where you want it if you can't miss your favourite soap or the kids need a cartoon.
up to two well behaved dogs are welcome if they are kept downstairs and not left unattended during the day.
Birchover is a lovely village with two pubs going great food. best to book in advance as they get busy. the village also has fascinating Rowtor rocks. Robin hood's stride and Stanton Moor with multiple ancient and natural rocks including Nine Ladies Stone Circle are all a short, easy walk away. Longer walks are available along the Limestone Way and the Derwent Valley Heritage trail as well as multiple footpaths spreading out into the Peak District. Off road family cycling trails are a short drive away at the Monsel Trail and the Tissington Trail. Need a day off outdoor adventure? Chatsworth House and Haddon Hall are close and fascinating. The market town of Bakewell is a 10 min drive and there are multiple attractions in Matlock and Matlock Bath.
Shippon Cottage is right at the heart of Birchover. If using public transport, there is a 172 bus that runs between Matlock and Bakewell every couple of hours until around 6pm mon-sat.
